Happy Tuesday, loves! Today’s blog post will be a little bit different…I’m sharing my first fall photo shoot with you!
I’ve always loved the idea of being in front of the camera, but struggled when I actually got there. I grew up performing in theater and dance, making silly movies with friends (I have a single IMDB acting credit to my name!) – I have a love/hate relationship with the spotlight. I’ve admired models, especially body positivity and plus-sized models like Tess Holliday, but I was never sure I could be a model myself.

When I first mentioned the idea for this blog and Instagram account, my friends were so supportive. They encouraged me to follow my passion, and have been helping me immensely along the way. My best friend Meghan is also a very accomplished photographer and offered to be my own photog for photo shoots. She helped get me out of my comfort zone, supported me, and gave me a confidence booster during our shoots together.
So what’s my advice? I’m repeating the old adage of following your dreams and pursuing your passions, even if it makes you a little (or a lot!) scared. Learn to take praise (I’ve been bad at accepting it my whole life). Stop criticizing every photo of yourself and learn to focus on the aspects of your body that you love. Look at the joy in your face.
Thanks for letting me get a little sappy there, friends. And without further ado…let’s get a little autumnal and spooky!
